We had a really fun time at the Old Hatchery. We spent a night there before a 5 day hike, and then came back again after the hike for another night. It was the perfect base as it it very near many Drakensberg hiking trails. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food at the restaurant is great (the pizza was a highlight!). The staff are friendly and helpful. We were there for the rugby world cup games and we had a really fun evening watching the game at their festive bar. I would definitely recommend.

Watched the warm sunset over the mountains as we dined. What a beautiful scene. Below us sat a little lake and kids play area. Very Friendly waiter. I particularly loved the salted caramel and the honey milkshakes! Chicken Burger was much bigger than I expected it to be. Definitely worth paying a visit.

We only ate at the restaurant. The service was excellent, food great value and well presented. The menu has a nice variety and the portions are very good! Sorry I didn’t take a pic of my meal. I ordered the T bone and it was cooked to perfection.
