An amazing experience in a tranquil setting!
Went to the restaurant during winter and absolutely loved the food!
My best thing though was the First Lady Chardonnay. A winner in terms of fruitiness and smoothness.
Will definitely be back during the summer to try their picnics!
Warwick deserves their profile and delivered as expected. The setting is beautiful - it’s worth booking a more private space - and the picnic food is as good as any other picnic in Cape Town. The service is also good. I’m glad I’ve ticked them off my bucket list and I’d suggest a visit.
I loved my picnic at Warwick and will definitely go back next time I’m in town.
4 good things:
1/ beautiful atmosphere - more of a mountainous view but felt nicely tucked away, lawn well-kept
2/ great food and wine - the Warwick First Lady Chardonnay is always a winner. The bread melted in my mouth, loved the beef fillet, caramelised onion jam and sweet chili and pesto cream cheese spread
3/ good service - the waitress never forgot me and was super helpful
4/ child-friendly - there’s a play fountain, lots of lawn, and jungle-gym and swings
2 bad things:
1/ all of their blankets and cushions were in the laundry and they didn’t warn me in advance. All of them. This was very disappointing as hanging out on the lawn was the main attraction for me.
2/ they have bench seating on the lawn which can get uncomfortable for long sits, but this seems to be a South African staple
