Remain best "slap chip" in the neighbourhood. When you need comfort food their chips with heaps of vinegar make you feel much better. It s worth the trouble.
I've been looking for a decent curry spot close to home and I think I found it! I've always just had the samoosas which are above average. This time I decided to give the lamb curry a go. Ordered the large portion which was great value. Only R68, served with rice and salad and big enough portion for 2 of us to eat dinner! The flavour of the curry was great, though it could have been hotter. A few curried chillies helped cure my heat woes. There was a bit too much rice, which was too oily for my liking, and a little more gravy would have been nice. The portion of lamb was excellent - it was super tender though there were lots of bones. Also only one potato in the curry - would have liked at least one more.
They're take away only but that's ok, as they're conveniently located next to the Pick n Pay - ideal for a take away dinner / lunch after your grocery shopping. The couple who run the store were super friendly too. It's one of the best value meals I've had in a while.
Being a Durban girl, my curry expectations are high and I was impressed with the taste and the portion size. Will definitely be back for their Friday breyani and maybe try out their bunny chow next time.
The best potato samoosas in town! I never pass this little outlet without buying a couple. The other samoosas are good, too. The curries are tasty but served with too much rice and not enough meat/veg for my liking. Also, the meat is served bones and all. Takeaways only - no dine-in.
