Simply Fish's logo is aptly "Everything under the Sea" and after receiving several recommendations in the past year from locals, I finally acquiesced and booked a table for lunch here recently.

Simply Fish's quiet corner location in the The Village Centre is not an obvious spot, and to be honest, unless recommended to me, I doubt that I would have ever stumbled upon it by chance. With both its indoor and outdoor sections combined, Simply Fish is also one of the biggest seafood restaurants that I have ever been to, which can make it appear empty, even though on both occasions it has been anything but. 

I could not believe how comprehensive both the sushi and seafood menu selections are!  I love oysters and as such, happened to inquire from the waiter if they had any. With a smile, he said "Oh yes" and suddenly I found myself listening to their selection of:

1. Fresh Large West Coast Namibian oysters;
2. Barbeque Oysters (Flame grilled with garlic, topped with cheese mix,
grilled golden brown);
3. Oyster Po Boy (Grilled flash-fried oyster served on a lightly fried sushi rice patty, topped with lettuce, avo, a dash of Tabasco and a sprinkle of black pepper); 
4. Japanese Oysters (Fresh oyster with dollop of mayo and a dash of green chillies);
5. Oyster Espanole (Oyster topped with Napolitana & Béchamel sauce sprinkled
with cheese mix, grilled golden brown);
6. Oyster Deluxe (Fresh oyster with a layer of smoked Norwegian salmon, topped with salsa & a dash of mayo).
7. Oysters with a vodka coriander and chilli dressing;
8. Oysters with a sweet soy seaweed dressing.. 

This restaurant seems to have something for every seafood lover and with some of the lowest pricing that I have seen in South Africa. Naturally, I was skeptical at first and could not have been more pleasantly surprised to see large portions of beautifully plated food being delivered to our table.

Ambiance: 3/5

Recommendation: Simply Fish is a must-try for the seafood and sushi lovers in Pretoria!!! They have specials on absolutely anything your heart could desire, but my two personal favourites that I recommend?
1/2 kg Queen prawns on Mondays & Thursdays for R225.
1/2 price sushi EVERY day (yes, every single day).
