02.11.2018 My friend and i decided to give Aarya a try. It's been open for quite some time but i have always had reservations about this place due to the mixed reviews. I am normally one to try a place regardless of reviews, but it has taken longer than usual to get here.
It was a friday night, and it wasn't as busy as expected, yet it is situated at the Hotel by Montecasino. They have a decent variety on their menu, and i didn't see too many Indian options. Our waitress was lovely, but right now her name slips my mind as i should have written this sooner, she was attentive and friendly, service with a smile always goes a long way.
For starters i had the Salt and Pepper Calamari, and my friend had the Mussels. My Calamari was good, great portion size yet slightly chewy, and i loved the sauce that came with it. My friends Mussels, were cooked to perfection, but the sauce was a bit of a let down, as the wine taste was a bit harsh and not cooked through. Portion size was also good and the side portion of bread was a great addition. We ordered a drink each, and at least i can say they also passed with my Cosmopolitan. It was good and not badly priced.
Mains, i couldn't resist ordering the Butter Chicken Curry, as i have always seen fellow foodie friends rave about this. This was served with a delightfully soft Roti, and some . Portion size, again was good, the chunks of chicken were a bit big, but the taste was there, and it had a slight kick to it which was nice. My friend ordered the Salmon with fries, and asked that the skin be Crispy it came rather limp, and a decent size piece of fish.
We didn't have space for dessert, and i was rather impressed with the food. My only gripe is the limp greenery (Dhanya) used on all the dishes for decor, they can give that a skip.
Will definitely consider going back and trying a few more dishes.

Week night visit and service started off a bit slow. Food was very tasty and delicious. Had baked black mushrooms with chilly brie cheese. Main meal decided on the prawn curry and it was very delicious and had very nice flavors. Very good menu variety, from various starters, pizzas, seafood, meats, curries, and desserts.
Date night package at Sunsquare Montecasino was delightful and included a R400 voucher for dinner at Aarya . Service was brilliant and ambiance even better. Nothing much beats the butter chicken curry.
