An open plan restaurant situated conveniently close to one of the main entrances, Café Latino has been here at Tygervalley Mall for quite some time now. The atmosphere is either relaxed or hectic, depending on how busy the mall is (the open plan means that unless you're a smoker, you'll be sitting amost in the passageway). There is always some Vh1 classic playing on the tv's, which provides some pleasant background music. The decor is, as the name suggests, very Italian based and comes complete with black and white photos of famous Italian actors and actresses.
The service was very good with myself being helped very quickly, although this could be due to the fact that I was here very early and was the only customer at that time. The seating layout is well spaced, which is a big plus.
I ordered my regular, the cappuccino and then I ordered the French toast. The cappuccino is a strong, flavourful one with a nice chocalate taste from some cocao powder sprinkled on the froth. The froth isn't very thick though, which gives the cappuccino a very watery appearance/texture compared to some other places. But a good coffee none the less.
The French toast was very tasty and well made, with lots of bacon, banana and served with syrup. The toast was properly cooked right through, and the bacon was done just as I ordered it.
Overall, had a good solid meal. 👍
Excellent little restaurant. We went there on Sunday for a breakfast. Quite amazed at the food and service. Will visit again and again and again.
Super fond of this little place. I rather hate shopping to be honest, but a cup of coffee or a quick beer and a toasted sandwich at this gem makes it a stack better. They have a large menu and the prices are really good to match. A must try if you're ever lurking around tygervalley.
