I can't remember when last I've left a restaurant feeling so satisfied? Monya's on Boundary is amazing! Their menu is basic with a fantastic variety. Decor is simple and tasteful with a romantic atmosphere.
We ordered the Springbok Carpaccio and the Garlic Snails for starters and were blown away! After the host, Bertie gave detailed instructions on how to eat the carpaccio (*jy rol hom op, steek 'n olyf en 'n "caper", maak hom bymekaar in die "balsamic" asyn, en druk dan die hele ding in jou mond!!) We followed his instructions, and WOW!!! A taste explosion!
For mains we ordered an Eisbein (mine was golden, crispy and beautifully salty, with fall-off-the-bone soft meat on the inside) as well as the Rump, served with the most delicious mash I've ever eaten.
Even though we had NO SPACE left for any more food, we somehow managed to convince our very quick and attentive waitress Gillian, to bring us a Frangelico Mousse and the Chocolate Brownie served with Chocolate Ice-cream.
Thanks to Bertie and chef Michael! We had a great time and will definitely be back soon for more delicious dinner dates! 💖
The calamari steaks are like butter and melt in your mouth. Cant wait to have a breakfast here, the pics look amazing. And as always, Bertie's service is as good as it gets.
