We stopped by this place because we heard of the fabulous playground for the children there. And we weren't disappointed! There is a huge jungle gym and play area outside the coffee shop with lush green lawns and lots of space to run around or play ball games.
The seating area is basically right next to the playground and lucky they put up some shade. We went there on a super hot day and were happy to relax in the shade. The kids had fun on the swing and jungle gym and they even found a toy box with additional things to keep them entertained and happy on such a hot day.
The coffee shop is a self-service establishment, so you will have to order inside. But this is not an inconvenience at all and there is lots of things to choose from. They serve burgers, salads, pizzas, toasties and a kiddies menu as well as pastries and cakes.
We can definitely recommend this place even if you go there without your bike. But if you do, you and the kids can also enjoy a bike track and kiddies track.
OMG, I loved this place so much. My AirBnB host suggested it and I thought she was just being biased but man it is so beautiful. It is just by the mountains, enough space for a group of people. Most importantly, Their burgers, I will never forget, they were fresh and yummy and just out of this world. The staff is very friendly and you can chill and just have drinks. What a lovely place.
We were able to rent two excellent mountain e-bikes to get into Jonkershoek Nature Reserve for the day. Very nice, kind and accommodating people. The e-bikes got us to the very top, 500 m. elevation. Plenty of battery left after 4 hour ride. And what a great experience getting into the reserve! Bike rental rates were very pricey however.
