This is a destination, not just a stop over. Time is needed to explore this stunning place. Kedar Lodge is clearly a labour of love. The indigenous gardens and walkway are beautiful, creating an atmosphere of tranquility and joy. The monuments, sculptures and memorabilia of South African heritage are astounding in the numbers and the care taken to display them at their best. Generosity abounds.. in the comfortable room, excellent service, friendly and helpful staff and plentiful food. Superb cappuccino too. Definitely worth experiencing for yourselves!
Lovely Venue , Secure and a accommodating. Really good rooms and a lot of history in one place. Stellar service from staff. Food was delicious. Venue is kept clean and easy to get comfortable unce you've arrived
The staff are all friendly and willing to go the extra mile for the smallest of requests, with management keeping us up to date and offering support where needed. The overall experience was pleasant and was given a silver lining by means of fabulous food offered on top of stellar customer service. Truly a hidden gem of the North West.

Amazing nature and history all in once
Situated in the North West Province, just 21km from Sun City, Kedar is built on a portion of Boekenhoutfontein, the historic farm that once belonged to President Paul Kruger. The land around Kedar has been game fenced and is populated with a wide variety of game, including eland, blesbok, impala, bushbuck, nyala, kudu, zebra, blue wildebeest, giraffe and sable – making it a dream destination for nature lovers. Kedar is also the ideal venue for functions, weddings and conferences, and can cater for up to 100 guests. 66 African-themed stone and thatched rooms and suites are decorated with vibrant, hand-painted ethnic print fabrics and artworks reflecting Africa’s treasures. Facilities include the renowned Paul Kruger Country House Museum, Kedar Spa in the Country, themed restaurants, a large swimming pool and private game drives.
As a big history fan this place captured my love. It's a great place to go to learn about the SA Anglo Boer War History

The place is great, the only thing is little reptiles and spiders in the rooms, the lodge must do more to control that, it is uncormfortable to sleep when you see different spiders and lizzards crawling around the beds especially when you are with kids.
We enjoyed our stay at the lodge! Environment is very peaceful, food was amazing and the staff was exceptional. Definitely coming back! Allois, Sarah and the team were amazing. :D
The heritage and history at the lodge is incredible. Rooms are great, beds are comfy. Towels are lush. Good could be a little better. Heaps of onions and peppers corns in most dishes. A carnivores' delight as plenty of red meat. The staff are delightful same so polite. Another improvement could be the coffee. . not the best.
Generally a pleasant experience
This is a unique place. A perfect combination between history, nature and friendly people. The rooms are located in historical buildings between beautiful gardens. Hidden between the garden you will find sculptures and information about the people and events of this place. An amazingly friendly staff makes your stay a unique experience. The food served is delicious and special as the dishes are explained in the memories of the great heroes. We spend two whole days just enjoying this place and I hope to come back.
Rich in history and heritage. Charming staff. Well managed, maintained and really clean. The food is absolutely delicious and the portions are very generous. They have a wonderful game drive that I really enjoyed and then visited the museum. The guide was super knowledgeable. Very impressed
Friendly staff, fabulous welcome. Our Lakeside rooms were beautiful and we were pleasantly surprised with the game in front of our rooms. Bowled over with the helpfulness of staff, even on check when we advised we'd be checking out early the lovely receptionist immediately offered us breakfast packs. That's never happened to me before.
