We took a drive to Pilgrims Rest and stopped for lunch at The Vines & Johnny's Pub. Wow absolutely the best ever Oxtail -on samp. And the Digger's Stew - beef stew on rice- excellent . Milkshakes, coffee, strawberry, lime - great. Toasted ham cheese & tomato. Toasted chicken & mayo. Great potato Chips. We sat on the stoep which has beautiful mountain views and watched the rain come pouring down the valley. The Tea could improve - one tea bag but in a big tea pot does not work A truly delightful restaurant with wonderful warm hospitality. We loved the quietness and the antiquity.

We had drinks at Johnny's Pub and had such a good time.. memories made... small group of people only when we got there... also due to loadshedding the place closed earlier than normal.. when in Pilgrims I would recommend this pub.. people super friendly and made us feel extremely welcome..
