Situated in gold reef city casino Ocean basket franchise and i found that food was really good and fresh,chips were well cooked and fish was really nice ,enjoyable time .

I stopped in at this Gold Reef City Ocean Basket recently for a light meal before a show at Lyric theatre (with a girlfriend) and this was the only packed restaurant on a Friday night which I think is always a telltale sign! Despite OB not being fine dining, there is definitely something to be said for this little franchise being voted South Africa's most loved seafood restaurant, and when I am in unfamiliar territory I tend to always stick to the tried and tested staples.
As such, I waited a short period of time, before being seated. When we sat down, I ordered a glass of the Ocean Basket wine and settled in to look over the menu and have a chat.
On the food side, we both chose to share a seared salmon salad and assortment of sushi platters and in terms of the value for money and portions, I have no complaints.
On the service side, our sushi took at least thirty minutes and the bill even longer, which I would not have minded, if we didn't have a show to get to.
*Recommendation: Despite the slow service (partly due to the fact that there wasn't an empty table in the place), the food was of a good standard and incredibly well-priced. If I had more time to spare before a show, I would definitely return!

Wow, fast service!! Pity I can't remember the guys name, but he was quick and friendly.
We were late for a show but had to grab something to eat before it started. Sat down ordered and then the drinks were there went straight to starters and while eating, mains arrived, we were so impressed given the fact that it was a full house that day. The sushi presentation was beautiful :-)The pace was amazing!!
Our food was lovely and fresh, we left satisfied.
Keep it up and we might be coming to just this OB in Gauteng
