This place is so cute , and the food is amazing. I had a special which was a Mexican chicken wrap with real black beans. It was delightful and of course the ice cream was incredible. The service was excellent and personable. Everything there is of a really high standard and is hard to resist.
You have to try Era! I loved everything about this quaint little shop! There were the two beautiful owners taking some freshly baked cake out of the oven when I arrived. As you walk in, wafts of sweet, playful scents tickle your nose and you immediately feel like a kid again. Kid version of me would want to try every flavour of Ice cream.. So that's exactly what I did! My faves were the chocolate & Oreo, maple syrup & pecan, and peanut butter. The apple and cinnamon was rather interesting. I also recommend the brownie fudge thingy that's sold at the counter. Such a beautiful shop and everything is handcrafted and made from scratch. Amazing. Keep it up ladies!

Ice-cream and waffles are always a winner, but today I I tried the 'Marie Antoinette' waffle at Era and was blown away. This decadent dish comprises a light, crisp waffle topped with three balls of homemade ice-cream in three different flavours; apple and cinnamon, salted caramel and vanilla bean. This is then drizzled with caramel sauce and topped with pecan nuts. It was absolutely delicious and I really enjoyed a cup of filter coffee with it. I can't wait to go back and try the other waffle options or a piece of cake.
What an awesome ice cream gem in Durban. The young gent that served us was incredibly helpful in explaining the menu. He made some great suggestions and we thoroughly enjoyed the decadent dessert experience. If you are in Durban then don't miss out on this ice cream.
My first thought was that waffle was way too small but I soon realised it was quite filling with three scoops of ice-cream and toppings. The ice-cream flavours are classic and tasty. The service was good as we were the only customers and the lady at the counter took our order, made our waffles, served us and was busy churning ice-cream 😄 It was a nice chilled afternoon treat before heading off to Kingsmead (just 5 mins away) for an evening of t20 cricket.
The best handmade ice cream in durban, having sampled all the flavors, the ladies are very pleasant and always smiling which makes eating/sharing ice cream at ERA a captivating moment and always a picture perfect moment.
Always going back.
All sorts of ice cream flavours to choose from while you learn some general History.
There are always fresh cakes and these to-die-for "smudgies"
Great service and fantastic ice cream from Era.
What more can you ask for when the owners come back to open the store and satisfy a bunch of excited kids ... And adults too 😃😃😃
I'm a fan of "mom and pop" outlets. Owner run eateries where passion and enthusiasm is still on the menu in an age of franchises. Era is exactly that - owner run and managed and it manifests in all the various ice cream flavours on offer. Peanut butter, salted caramel and the strawberry flavours are highlights. I really hope this establishment thrives - it deserves to.
Best home made ice cream, sweet treats, savories and coffee in Durban
Walked in too pick up a rainbow cake got a very warm welcome and a beautiful smile which really made my day .The cake was awesome has was the ice cream Will be doing a SCHWARZENEGGER " I'll be back "
The apple and cinnamon ice cream was amazing. Unfortunately my husband's vanilla ice cream - was salty and a let down as this was the reason we drove 20km to Era. He had read a review that the vanilla ice cream was 'out of this world.' However the staff handled the is due well and we will be back.
Love love love! This is the best ice cream I have ever had, and we keep going there again and again. We often recommend it to others and they love it too. The home-made ice cream os absolutely to die for: creamy and rich.
Her flavours have unique names such as Marilyn Monroes strawberry or Pablo Picasso. The flavours are real. Makes you think you are really eating a lemon meringue or strawberry cheesecake. The peanut butter ice cream pie is amazing, taste like real peanut butter. And smudgies! Brownies with biscuits topped with melted caramel and white chocolate. This is definitely a must when you're in Durban.
Amazing ice cream pie. Peanut Butter flavour to die for. That syrup on the top was amazing! :) ☺Thanks girls
I loved the lemon meringue ice cream (lemon + zest = deliciousness). Their quiches are to die for, yum yum
Great little place and much better service now with new ownership. Delicious artisanal ice cream.
Loved their rainbow cake. It was soft, fresh and moist. Staff were a bit unfriendly though 😔
Popped in for a coffee and one of their special toasties after going for a visa application. Best decision ever!!! Can't wait to go back.
Cute little store with the best vanilla ice cream you will have in your life. I forgot to take pictures.
I went to their recent high tea. I don't know what they do to their food, but it is incredible! Really hope they open a restaurant soon!
Best ice cream this side of Durban. Their waffles are amazing too!

Great vibe, chilled and relaxed. Can read books, magazines or newspapers. Great food, but their coffee needs work.

The ice cream here is to die for, and the cakes are just as amazing.
